Craft Party Augusta 2017

Every year for the last three years, I have been a part of organizing a fun event where people come to craft, have snacks and shop from a couple of local handmade vendors.  This event was in sync with yearly  Etsy's Craft Party.  I loved coordinating it and just getting people together to do something I love!

This year Etsy decided to end their famous Etsy Craft Party to start doing their take on a community craft market, Etsy Made Local.  You can read more about their decision here.  I was a little sad by this decision, but I understand that they have to do what is best for the seller's and the business.  But I still wanted to party!

Needless to say, I decided to still host a Craft Party in my community, while at the same time helping a local small business in Augusta.

The Mission is an Emergency Food Pantry started by a couple, Ray and Tracy Sprankle, who felt led to help those in need in the Central Savannah Riverside Area (CSRA).  Because they use their location, inside the Augusta Business Center, mainly for food storage and preparation, they have extra room in their facility.  They did not want to waste this space and decided to let other groups use their facility.  Church startups have met on Sundays, prayer groups  meet through out the week, homeschool moms have met for support on Fridays, and Ever Crafty meets there to teach both kids and adult craft classes varies days during the month.

When asked how they are able to pay for their rental fee, Mrs. Sprankle stated; "I don't know how we do it, but every month God provides".

Her generosity, joy and willingness to help makes me want to help their mission even more!  I want to FILL their pantry so that they don't have to worry about buying any food to stock up for months.  While we collect food for their pantry we will also be showcasing some of our local handmade and craft vendors, and having some creative fun.  I hope you can take time out to help this organization and have a little fun crafting!
